Keyboard shortcuts
On Windows and Linux, replace ⌘ with Ctrl. All shortcuts below use Mac notation.
Press ? anywhere in the app (outside a text field) to open the in-app shortcut overlay.
Global
These shortcuts work anywhere in the app, as long as you are not typing in a text field.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| ⌘K | Open command palette and global search |
| ⌘/ | Toggle sidebar open and closed |
| Esc | Close the active modal or dismiss the current panel |
| ? | Open the keyboard shortcut help overlay |
Article editor
These shortcuts are active when your cursor is inside the article editor or a text input field.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| ⌘S | Save the current entity |
| ⌘Z | Undo |
| ⌘⇧Z | Redo |
| ⌘B | Bold |
| ⌘I | Italic |
| [[ | Open the wikilink picker |
Type [[ then start typing to filter existing entities. If you type a name that does not exist and press Enter, Skryrún creates a stub entity automatically. You do not have to leave the editor to link to something that hasn't been created yet.
Session Mode
These shortcuts are active when Session Mode is open.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| ⌘K | Search entities (same as global — works inside Session Mode) |
| Esc | Close Session Mode or dismiss the current panel |
The Session Mode search bar is always focused by default when you enter Session Mode. You do not need to click the search field — start typing immediately.
Navigation
These shortcuts apply when navigating lists — the entity browser, search results, and the command palette.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| ↑ / ↓ | Move through list items |
| Enter | Open the selected item |
| Esc | Close search or the palette without selecting |
Tips
- Global shortcuts like ⌘/ and ? are disabled while you are typing in a text field. Editor-specific shortcuts (save, bold, italic, wikilink) remain active while the editor has focus.
- Hover over any toolbar button or icon to see its shortcut in the tooltip.
- The command palette (⌘K) accepts partial names, commands, and page names. It is the fastest way to navigate to anything — an entity, a settings page, or a quick action like creating a new entity.
